Kenneth H. Joel, M.D.
After attending and graduating from the University of Georgia, Dr. Joel proceeded to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He remained in Augusta to complete an internship at Eugene Talmadge Memorial Hospital before transitioning to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Joel completed an Anesthesiology residency immediately followed by a fellowship with concentrations in chronic pain management and OB anesthesia.
Board Certified in both Pain Management and Anesthesiology, Dr. Joel has served patients of North Fulton Regional Hospital in various capacities. He is a former Chairman for the hospital's Department of Anesthesia and currently serves as the Medical Director for the Pain Control Center, a position he has held since 1990. He is presently employed by North Fulton Anesthesia Associates, PC.
An active physician in the medical community, Dr. Joel is a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Pain Society and the International Association of the Study of Pain. He has also presented on a range of topics related to pain management including Diagnosing and Treating Chronic Pain, New Modalities in the Treatment of Pain, Pharmacology and Physiology of Therapeutic Agents in Chronic Pain Management, and Addiction versus Dependence.
Dr. Joel's attention to health exists not only in his career but in his personal life as well. In his spare time he enjoys snow and water skiing, golfing, biking, playing racquetball and participating in other physical fitness activities. He also enjoys traveling and spending time with his six children.
Ravi R. Dammanna, M.D.
Dr. Ravi Dammanna is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and fellowship trained Interventional Pain Physician. He works in Roswell and Cumming treating complex pain conditions with a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach. As the medical director of the Northwoods Pain Clinic in Cumming, Georgia Dr. Dammanna believes that the future of pain management is bright and hopes to make a lasting contribution through innovation in patient care.
Dr. Dammanna grew up in Wisconsin. After his internship in General Surgery at the University of South Alabama Medical Center he returned to Wisconsin to complete an Anesthesiology Residency and later an interventional Pain Medicine fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. There, he trained extensively in regional anesthesia and pain procedures. He has been involved in multiple research studies and presentations at national Anesthesia Society meetings and continues to maintain an interest in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine research.
A physician of North Fulton Anesthesia Associates, He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society and the American Medical Association. With his colleague Dr. Ken Joel he has presented on a range of topics related to pain management including Diagnosing and Treating Chronic Pain, New Modalities in the Treatment of Pain, Pharmacology and Physiology of Therapeutic Agents in Chronic Pain Management, and Interventional Modalities used in the Management of Chronic Pain. Dr. Dammanna currently resides in Atlanta and enjoys various activities. Running, football, basketball, tennis, cricket, hiking and backpacking all maintain his interest. He also enjoys reading and traveling.
